Rolling Pennies across the playground - not quite sure why, but inherent dangers were the small drains that were scattered across the playground, bushes around the edge and the raised canteen. Kiss Chase - the girls seemed to like this more than the boys. I remember a 'gang' of about four girls deciding to chase me and drag me back to one girl waiting in the corner of the playground. I never got there since I managed to escape by running forward, fell on some gravel and I still have the scar on my knee to prove it. Chariots - one or two lads took the part of the horse(s) to run around the playground with the driver hanging on to the back of the 'horse(s)' jumpers. I'm not sure if the parents ever wondered why the jumpers were always a lot longer and stretched at the back. Flying Saucers - with great care the foil tops could be taken off the free bottles of milk to keep their shape. These could then be flicked between 1st & 2nd fingers to create a mini-frisbee. They flew extremely well and often went up in the updrafts of air that occured in the corners of the main buildings and 'new' Sports Hall.
