Hi there,
Not sure if this is too late. Benjamin May and Dinah Hawood (I have it written as Hawood) are my 4th great grandparents. Ben and Dinah's daughter Ann married Edwin Woodward and they left England in 1856 for New Zealand. I have all the same records written down for Benjamin - having a brother John, mother Hannah and potentially father Thomas and sister Sarah. I have Ben's marriage cert. to his second wife Ann Trinfield Hunt also and I did notice his father as being John, a coach spring maker. In the end I wasn't 100% sure of the facts so I haven't gone any further with it. Sorry I don't have any info on John, Ben's brother.
